N Scale Layouts

FTL - Alex Corsico's layout Italian Free Lance Railroad in N scale. My friend Alex built this beautiful railroad set in northern Italy. It focuses on realistic operation.
ATSF Third District Route 66 - Marco Trespidi's layout - N scale ATSF switching shelf layout set somewhere along the Route 66 in Arizona in the 1970s.
Mario Vason's Cretaz N scale layout A layout in N scale inspired by Valle d'Aosta region located in northern Italy. Features some great scratchbuilt structures and excellent autumn scenery.
B.L. Faulkner CSXT Shenondoah Division N scale layout A rather big modern days CSX layout focused on mainline operations featuring working signalling system.
Luca's Yard - C&NW switching layout a small, nice switching layout my friend Alex Corsico is building together with his young sons.
LucaShark - Luca, a friend of mine, is building a nice German-style layout in N scale.

Andrea Barella's N scale empire Italian layout set in modern era. Andrea, a close friend, is building a good layout and he also runs his own model company Pirata Models.
Charlie Burns' SP Coast Line A superb model railroad of the SP Coast Line in N scale, set in 1964. This guy is an excellent modeler! His ocean is a masterpiece, as well as his artistic talent when it comes down to scenery. Colors and texture are perfect. Charlie helped a lot and answered tons of questions I asked him via e-mail. Thanks Charlie!
Carsten Ludsten's N scale layout This one has superb scenery! Carsten is a great modeler, take a close look at his photos and you'll see another example of how colors and textures are wisely used.
Daryl Kruse's UP Rochelle Subdivision Featured on Great Model Railroads magazine, this model railroad layout is superb! Daryl was able to squeeze in a rather small space a great amount of railroad, focused on prototype operations.
Mark Lestico's Cascade Subdivision An excellent example of a modern era layout, set in beautiful Oregon mountains. It features an awesome design for both the train room and the trackplan.
Central Carolina N Scale Layout, featuring excellent fall scenery and many great scenes.
Rick's Southern Pacific Cascade Sub in N Scale. An impressive layout with excellent mountain scenery set in Southern Pacific’s route over the Cascade Mountains in Oregon.
Timothy J. Horton's British Columbia Railway's Dawson Creek Subdivision in N Scale. Tim planned a great layout which is still in construction phase, but it already shows its operating and scenic potential. He was able to condense a lot of railroad in a relatively small space, and he set is time in 1977. Tim also mocked-up several structures which look awesome to me!
Lennart Svedberg's N scale "Summit" layout, which is a freelanced interpretation of the Southern Pacific Tehachapi tunnels and their surroundings. Lennart is handlaying code 40 track with scale tie plates, an impressive work. Also scenery is awesome!
Mike Stoner's Owens Valley Subdivision of the SPSF Railroad. Mike is doing a great job with his layout, featuring a could-be railroad after the Southern Pacific and Santa Fe merger along the California/Nevada border. He handlay excellent turnouts and he's also very talented when it comes down to adding details to engines. Check his website out!
Luís Lopes's Model Railroading blog. Luís is planning a Southern Pacific shelf layout set in the 1980s. A promising project!
Jamie's CSX Dixie Line N-scale model railroad based on the CSX line from Atlanta to Nashville via Chattanooga. Even if layout is at benchwork stage, Jamie did an amazing planning job and he is now building benchwork, lighting and backdrop with an accuracy I'm jealous of :-)
Jimmy Low, a guy from Malaysia, models the UP and BNSF at Tower 17 junction in present-day Rosenberg, Texas. (Layout is at planning stage)
Andy's BC Rail Fort St. John Subdivision N Scale Layout. Still in the construction phase, this looks like a promising layout, based in nothern British Columbia, Canada. I guess this layout will feature excellent scenes.
Grant Eastman's Southern Alberta Rail (sar) N Scale Layout, operates former Canadian Pacific lines in Southern Alberta and British Columbia. Features great scenery and interesting detailed engines.






HO Layouts

Joe Fugate's Siskiyou Line HO Layout SP in Oregon set in the 1980s. This is one of the most incredible layouts I've ever seen. I think it is #1 layout for me.
Joe is a scenery fanatic, and his layout shows all his skills. Joe sells howto DVDs, I have all of them and they have been very useful. Many of the techniques I use on my SP Coast Line layout, I've learned them through Joe's videos. DVD chapters are available for download at few dollars.
Jack Burgess' Yosemite Valley HO layout Yosemite Valley RR in HO, speaks for itself. Jack built structures, rolling stock, scenery. He's very talented. He also wrote an awesome book on Yosemite Valley Railroad which I own.
Charlie Comstock's Bear Creek and South Jackson is another awesome layout. Time is 1952 and place is somewhere in Oregon mountains. This layout has a proto-freelance flavor, as it features a lot of bridge traffic - mainly SP.
Besides being a talented modeler, Charlie has a great sense of humor and his photography skills showed up several times on major model railroad magazines.
Bruce Petty's Los Angeles Model Railroad is an HO shelf layout modeled after Southern California during the 1960s. Bruce is a talented modeler and his website is also full of howtos and prototype info!
Tore Hjellset's Grimstad Line HO layout 1960s in southern Norway, this layout is coming along very nicely. Tore, also a FREMO-Norge member, is an excellent modeler!
Knut Tysnes' Peavine & Santa Fe HO layout A norwegian friend is building a nice switching layout set in the 1960s.
Blair Kooistra's Walla Walla Valley HO scale layout WWRR & UP set in the late 1960s, nice trackplan and operating potential.
Ted York's Cajon Pass HO scale layout UP & ATSF Cajon pass set in the 1950s, a great layout.
Lee Nicholas' Utah Colorado Western RR HO scale layout a superb free-lanced western railroad set in 1967.
Jerry Hopkins' Great Northern Down Under HO scale layout GN in Montana, set in the 1950s.
Clark Bauman's CR&B railroad HO scale layout a proto-freelanced SP layout set in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Excellent scenery! Too bad this website is lacking updates for a long time...
Erli Pievani's HO layout Italian Private Railroad in HO operated with realistic timetable and car card and waybill car-forwarding system. Lots of excellent structures and scenery.
Sjuskogbanen - A very well scenicked norvegian layout in HO set in the 1950s.
Modellismo Ferroviario... che passione! - An italian modeler opened this blog telling about his nice modeling efforts.
Chris Lyon's Lyon Valley Northern - an HO railroad featuring CN and BNSF action in the West built by a great canadian modeler!
