Playing with Helicon Focus

I should work on the layout instead of playing with my camera, however here is what I got for today. It's another Helicon Focus great depth-of-field picture. The following photo is made of roughly 20 image files, each with a different focal point which Helicon Focus software combined together.

For comparison, here is the same shot only done with autofocus - again you can see how both the foreground and background details are out of focus, like the Tunnel Motor nose and the tunnel portal.

Great shots! Agree that Helicon Focus is a bit pricey. Which version did you buy (Lite or Pro)? One year license or unlimited? Kind of smart with the one year license - tricks you to fall for a product many otherwise never consider. Enough of price complaining. The result looks very good! What type camera are you using?

Thanks Lennart,
I'm actually still using the trial version, but I'll probably end up buying a one year licence of the Lite version - enough for my needs. After the first year, we'll count how many photos I processed :)

My camera is a Canon PowerShot A590IS. A compact camera, but it has a manual mode that lets you play with exposure, aperture and focus.

Helicon Focus permanent licence is now sold at special price, so I eventually bought it :)

Very nice images Denny. I think it is great to take photos of your work. It lets you see through an unfiltered eye what you have done. A very nice record. The SP line looks fantastic.
