Winter Layout Party, week 7

Final day! February 13th is Trainboard Winter Layout Party deadline. I haven't done much during this last week as I feel the scene is pretty complete. It's also been a crazy week at work.
I can say mission accomplished! The scene started as bare benchword and ended up 90% scenicked.

Here is a before and after comparison:

I still can't believe it's the same layout. Almost perfect, well forget the almost, those scenes ARE perfect. I regularly use some of your layout photos as my Windows desktop background image--until I can make my own :) Jamie

Haha, Jamie! Thanks man, I'm honored :) Actually that scene needs a lot more details to be considered complete, but at least it's better than looking at foam board during op sessions :D

I agree with Jamie but if you think you need more details... ANything particular you had in mind?

Lennart,

I want to give ScenicExpress' Prairie Turfs a try. Then I'd need to extend the fence and the grass towards Callender spurs, I have to add a lot more bushes along the backdrop as well as here and there, and I also want to add wires both to the fence and the poles. Then I need to add structures to the oil refinery and coke ovens at Callender. Enough for another Layout Party :)

Excellent finish to the layout party! The scene looks very convincing. I'm looking forward to seeing this whole scene "streched out" with the industry at the back.

I love what your doing, and this is a great stratch of line to model.

My only criticism would be that your roadbed is a little flat to the ground - it would look even more realistic if it had a proper shoulder, subroad bed and drainage ditches.

Other than that - good job, it really looks like SoCal!

The Scene looks absolutely fantastic. I think you have captured the realism of that part of the country very well.

Hi Denny,

What's up? You have been very quiet... ;)

Your modelling skills are awsome. I just hope toget my layout as good as yours :)

Hope everything is ok!

Cheers! :)
